New Era Park is one of several small neighborhoods in midtown Sacramento – all urban and uniquely alive, yet pleasant with plush trees canopying over charming, older, Victorian-esque homes.
Each little niche of this corridor of communities is home to distinct, popular, much-
loved businesses and parks. New Era’s little claim to fame is most prominently the B Street Theatre, however it is also adjacent to Sutter’s Landing Park, which has a number of trails, as well as a dog park, skate park, basketball courts and access to the American River. Grant and Stanford Park are two community parks that lie within the “park” boundaries. Blue Diamond Almonds also anchors this stretch of midtown on the west.
The neighborhood is also home to the New Era Community Garden, near the corner of 26th and C Streets. Formed by a group of committed neighbors, full, half and quarter plots are available for rent to local green thumbs.
The entire area is peppered with boutiques, coffee shops, watering holes, galleries, and studios. The ever-popular New Roma Bakery lies on the border of New Era Park, not far from a bike shop and Grateful Dog Daycare.
In addition to its profusion of personality and charm, according to Sacramento Magazine, midtown Sacramento is growing in popularity among empty nesters. Its appeal stems from the area’s walkability, shorter commute time, and easy access to cultural amenities.
